This Riesling is a true expression of our volcanic terroir, and surprises us every year with more and more depth and complexity. Hand harvested and spontaneously fermented fruit pressed gently and aged in inox for 8 months and a further 2 years in bottle.
Mineral, mineral, mineral! A true expression of our volcanic terroir, Terra I surprises us every year with more and more depth and complexity. Riesling all the way, hand harvested and spontaneously fermented, then aged in inox for 8 months and a further 2 years in bottle.. On the nose, a stone fruit array, ripe quince, and slight hint of fresh fir buds. The palate is deep and generous with salted, grilled peach, joghurt, african lemon, and a gentle, long, mineral finish.

The Terra Project
The idea of the Terra Project was born in 2017, inspired by two pure and beautiful Rieslings from Terra I- being St. György-Hegy (Mount St. George) and Terra II- being Tagyon-Hegy, 23 km to the northeast of St. György-Hegy along Lake Balaton. Terra Project is the comparison with our home terroir on St. György-Hegy and other terroirs from which we are able to source representative organic Riesling fruit. We believe in our volcanic-powered Rieslings but acknowledge beautiful terroir anywhere, and we have used the great Riesling grape to paint the canvas of each individual Terroir. We hope you find the nuances in each of our Terra wines.
Vinification
- Hand picked, full bunch pressed, pneumatic press
- Wild yeast fermentation in 600L fermentation eggs
- Lees contact in stainless steel tank, 6 months
- Coarse filter before bottling
